  • Is elevated blood glucose and elevated insulin common across many metabolic syndrome conditions?

Is elevated blood glucose and elevated insulin common across many metabolic syndrome conditions?

Yes. Sustained elevations in glucose and compensatory insulin typically precede worsening triglycerides and broader cardiometabolic risk, and they drive pathophysiology across multiple tissues. They are not ‘one marker among many’; they sit near the centre of the metabolic cascade. Metabolic inflammation and dysregulation are strongly associated with many psychiatric and brain related conditions.
